Islip is one of the most solar-friendly towns on Long Island.
The Town of Islip moves solar permits quickly, which means you start saving sooner. A couple of incorporated villages and shared hamlets have their own rules, and we confirm the right office for your address. Homes in a designated historic district also go through that district's review, which we coordinate with the permit office for approval.

Islip is known for being solar-friendly, and Town permits typically take just 3–5 weeks.

Brightwaters and Islandia are incorporated villages that issue their own permits. We file with the village and give you its timeline up front.

Holbrook, Ronkonkoma and Hauppauge are split with the Towns of Brookhaven and Smithtown. We confirm which office covers your address before we file.
Every project, in any town, also needs PSEG Long Island interconnection approval before installation, then a final inspection and Permission to Operate (PTO) from PSEG Long Island before the system turns on. We handle all of the paperwork and coordination with PSEG Long Island. Install day itself is fast: most solar installs take one day, larger systems one to two days, and systems with battery backup two to three days. A roof replacement or a heat pump install each typically takes one day.

Tree-lined streets of capes, colonials and ranches. We model shade on each roof before recommending anything.
West Islip
Split-levels, capes and ranches from the 1950s and '60s, plus larger waterfront homes to the south. Many homeowners pair a new roof with solar.

Brentwood

Holbrook
High ranches and colonials, many with growing electric loads from central air, EVs and heat pumps. Holbrook is split with the Town of Brookhaven.
Islandia
A small incorporated village with its own permit process.
Ronkonkoma
Homes near the lake and train station. Ronkonkoma is split among Islip, Brookhaven and Smithtown, so we check your permit office first.
Hauppauge
Mid-century neighborhoods where many homes still heat with oil. Part of Hauppauge is in the Town of Smithtown.

If your roof has less than about 10 years of life left, it usually makes sense to replace it first. We check your roof during the energy review, and if it needs replacing, we do the roof and solar together, each typically in one day.
